From May 20 to 22, Enlit Africa 2025 was held with great success at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) in South Africa. As one of the most influential industry events in Africa’s energy sector, the event focused on crucial topics such as Africa’s energy transition, sustainable energy access, the role of digitalisation in infrastructure resilience, and strategies to enhance decarbonisation.
According to statistics, around 600 million people in Africa lack electricity. In sub-Saharan Africa, only 43% have access to electricity. And Africa's rapidly growing energy demand coupled with its vast renewable energy potential is unlocking transformative opportunities for regional energy transition.
At this exhibition, Wasion’s booth attracted wide attention through its professional showcases and fun-filled activities, creating a vibrant and dynamic atmosphere. We showcased AMI solutions and transparent MV&LV distribution solutions — tailored to meet the needs of the African energy market and featuring the latest power transmission and distribution equipment as well as smart meters — which welcomed attendees from various countries such as South Africa, Tanzania, Kenya, and Nigeria, and were widely praised.
Wasion has customized its aMeter series smart electricity meter specifically for the African market by adding prepaid functionality while maintaining high metering accuracy, helping ensure timely revenue collection for utilities. At the same time, Wasion’s AMI solutions enable the precise identification of line losses in transmission lines, reducing electricity theft risks and helping utilities lower operating costs, thereby contributing to the modernization of Africa’s power infrastructure.
With over two decades of deep engagement in the African market, Wasion has established partnerships across more than 30 countries and regions through continuous technological innovation and localized R&D, manufacturing, and services, actively participating in the upgrade of Africa’s energy infrastructure. During the exhibition, Wasion earned wide recognition for its advanced technological capabilities and localized solutions, further strengthening its brand awareness and influence across Africa.
Moving forward, Wasion will continue to deepen collaboration with its African partner countries, contributing to Africa’s energy transition and the shared goal of achieving a more efficient and cleaner energy future.
